How to use the Graphic Organiser Maker
Work through the four steps above the preview. In Choose, pick the graphic organiser that fits the thinking you want (each one starts with a filled classroom example, so you can see how it works). In Content, type your title and points, or open Paste a list and paste a bulleted list from your notes or an AI chat. In Style, choose the size, colours and font. In Download, save a PNG for slides or printing, print it, copy it, or make a share link. Text resizes itself to fit, and if something is too long you will see a warning and a “Show me” button that takes you to the field. Your work is saved in this browser as you go, so you can close the page and come back later. If you searched for a graphic organizer maker, this is the same thing with UK spelling.
Which organiser should I use?
- Venn diagram: compare two or three things and show what they have in common.
- T-chart: compare two or three things side by side, or sort pros and cons, facts and opinions.
- KWL chart: recall what students already know, plan an inquiry, and reflect on what they learned (add H for “how we will find out”).
- Frayer model: define a key word or concept with its characteristics, examples and non-examples.
- Sequence: put steps, procedures or story events in order.
- Cycle diagram: show a process that repeats, such as a life cycle or the water cycle.
- Timeline: place events in time order and discuss cause and effect.
- Mind map: brainstorm and connect ideas around one topic, or plan writing and revision.
What each option does
- Paste a list: fills the organiser from a bulleted or indented list. A short hint shows the format each organiser expects, and Undo puts back what you had.
- Load example / Clear content: start again from the classroom example or from empty headings.
- Size: 16:9 for slides, 4:3, square, or 3:4 portrait for handouts.
- Colour palette: six palettes, all checked so text stays readable, including a greyscale one for black-and-white printing.
- Accent colour: change the colour of the title bar, arrows and centre shapes to match your slides.
- Font: seven open-licence fonts, including Atkinson Hyperlegible and Lexend, which are designed for easy reading.
- Corners and lines: rounded or square corners, light or bold lines.
- Text size: Auto fits the text for you; use + and – to make it larger or smaller.
- Blank worksheet: keeps the headings and layout, hides your content and adds writing lines, ready to print for students.
- Show title and attribution credit: turn the title or the small credit line on or off.
- Download: PNG for slides (2x), PNG for printing (4x) or SVG for sharp scaling. You can also copy the image, print it on one A4 page, copy a share link, or copy alt text that describes the organiser for screen readers.
- Start over: clears your saved draft and returns to the examples.
Ways to use it in class
- Printable blank worksheets: set up the headings, turn on Blank worksheet and print a class set.
- Exit tickets: a blank Frayer model for the word of the day, or a 3-2-1 style T-chart students complete before they leave.
- Lesson openers: project a KWL chart and fill the K and W columns together, then return to L at the end of the unit.
- Revision: summarise a topic as a mind map or timeline and add it to your revision slides.
- Group work: give each group a different organiser to complete, then share their finished versions on the board.
- Scaffolding: fill in some points and leave others empty so students complete the rest.
- Sharing with colleagues: send a share link so another teacher can open your organiser and adapt it.
Draft your content with your own AI (optional)
The maker does not use AI and sends nothing anywhere. If you already use an AI chat tool, you can ask it to draft the content for you. Copy the prompt for your organiser, replace the words in square brackets with your topic and level, and paste it into your AI tool. Copy its reply, open Paste a list in the Content step, paste, and choose Fill from list. Always check the content before you use it with students.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Graphic Organiser Maker free?
Yes. It is free to use, with no sign-up and no account.
Is my content saved anywhere?
No. Everything stays in your browser. Your current draft is saved on this device only so you can come back to it, and Start over deletes it. A share link carries the organiser inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded or stored on a server.
Can I use the images in my worksheets and slides?
Yes. Use the organisers you make in your lessons, handouts, slides and learning platforms. The small credit line is on by default, and you can switch it off in the Style step.
Can students use it?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on a laptop, Chromebook, tablet or phone, with nothing to install and no login. Students can build their own graphic organizer for a project and download it or share the link with you.
How do I print a blank graphic organizer for my class?
Set up your title and headings, turn on Blank worksheet in the Style step, then go to Download and choose Print. The organiser prints on one A4 page, landscape or portrait to match its size. The Print (greyscale) palette saves colour ink, and you can also download the PNG for printing and add it to your own worksheet.
Can I come back and edit it later?
Yes, on the same device and browser your draft is still there when you return. To continue on another device, or to keep several versions, copy a share link for each one.
Everything you make stays in your browser, so try a few organisers and keep the ones that work for your class.
