Free classroom tools for teachers and students
Free tools to make lessons more interactive: pick names at random, deal roles from a deck, and keep a timer on top of everything you show. Built by a practising lecturer.
Random name picker
Spin the wheel to pick a student at random. Paste your class list, then spin. Nothing is stored, and it works on any device.
Random roles assigner deck
Build a deck of your own cards — roles, names, prompts or images — then shuffle and deal them at random. Deal without repeats, keep a draw log with notes, and export it as a CSV. Nothing is stored, and it works on any device.
Classroom timer
A countdown, Pomodoro and stopwatch timer in one. Pop it out and it stays on top of your slides, PDFs and browser tabs so the class can always see the time left. Your settings stay in your own browser, and it works on any device.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use these tools in my classroom?
Yes. They are made to be used in class and are free. Attribution is appreciated but not required.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. Every tool runs in your browser, with no account, no install and no subscription. Anything you type, such as class lists, card decks or timer labels, stays on your own device and is never sent to a server.
Can I embed these on my own site?
Yes. The Classroom Timer has a ready-made embed snippet at the bottom of its own page – copy the iframe from there. For the other tools, get in touch and I will share an embed you can drop into your own pages.
Have an idea for a tool?
