A one-minute timer for the moments that need one
A minute is the most-used unit in a classroom and the easiest one to lose track of. One minute to finish the sentence you are on. One minute to tidy the station before rotating. One minute of silent thinking before anyone is allowed to answer, which is the single cheapest way to stop the same three students answering everything.
Press Start and it runs. If a minute turns out not to be enough, press + 1 min rather than resetting — the timer keeps going and the alarm moves with it. The ring turns amber and then a brighter alert colour as the time disappears, so the class can see the end coming without you saying anything. Press F to throw it on the projector, or Keep on top to float it above your slides while you carry on teaching.
