Twenty minutes, held honestly
Twenty minutes is the length of a short test, a sustained writing task, a lab step, or the independent half of a flipped lesson. Long enough that the room settles, short enough that it stays urgent — but only if the time is visible. A twenty-minute task with no clock reliably becomes a thirty-minute one.
This opens at twenty minutes, ready to start. Run it fullscreen so it reads from the back of the room, and use the A+ button to size the digits for the distance you actually have. If the class needs longer, add time rather than restarting. If the room is silent and sound would break it, leave the alarm off entirely and rely on the ring colour, which shifts to amber and then alert as the end approaches.
